Runflat CBR are introducing a Runflat Insert and Wheel that will replace the traditional two-piece designs in current use, with significant technical, operational and commercial advantages.
Unsprung weight will be significantly reduced along with better fuel consumption increased payload and improved tyre life.
New technology reduces capital costs and provides reduced critical service downtime with fast, simple and cleaner fitting.
This will provide end users and service personnel with a cost effective, better handling, simplified and comprehensive solution where Runflat is a necessity.
Low pressure operations and CTIS will be available on the single piece wheel.
New CBR (Combined Beadlock Runflat) technology includes;
// Lightweight ‘active beadlock’
// A friction reducing component for longer cooler runflat
// Sealed lubrication
Fitted to the new CBR Wheel the combination will provide the lightest solution and for the first time a single piece drop-centre wheel will effectively carry beadlock while benefitting from all the convenience and cost savings of an ordinary wheel.
Runflat CBR is fitted using the normal tools employed when fitting standard truck tyres to ordinary truck wheels and with the elimination of lubricant makes for a clean environment and significantly reduced downtime.
The first systems will be manufactured to suit 335/80 R20 MPT marked military tyres on the 20×10 and 4,000 kg capacity military specification forged alloy CBR wheel. CTIS will be available as an option.
Performance is set to exceed 50km at 50kph on or off road when testing is complete, with an all-tyres-deflated capability.
Both Runflat CBR Military and CBR Wheel are expected to be released in late summer 2020

*Note: It is not possible to guarantee any runflat insert will be able to provide an absolute performance over a fixed distance or speed.
